Curriculum Statement

The Dorchester Curriculum aims to inspire and motivate children to develop a love of learning and aspiration to excel in life beyond primary school. The curriculum is built on developing three key components: the emotional self, the social self and the academic self.

The curriculum has clear progression in the content knowledge and subject specific skills taught with explicit links made that allow the pupils to understand the connections between ideas to develop a deeper subject knowledge across the curriculum.

The curriculum is carefully crafted to ensure there are identifiable subject specific progressive content underneath an immersive theme allowing the children to draw on experiences from across the curriculum.
